This is just getting silly. The cast for Steven Soderbergh's Contagion continues to expand, like a huge, ever-growing, pulsating brain that rules from the centre of the Ultraworld. [Elliott Gould, Jennifer Ehle, Bryan Cranston and Demetri Martin](http://Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, John Hawkes, Chin Han, and Josie Ho) have now joined the film, which already features Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, John Hawkes, Chin Han and Josie Ho.
Contagion, which is about a global pandemic, is juggling this stonking roster by weaving together multiple intersecting international plot-strands. The script is by Scott Z Burns, who also wrote The Informant!.
Collider reports that plans to shoot Contagion in 3D seem to have been scrapped, because Soderbergh's shiny new cameras didn't arrive in time for his desired start-date later this month. With so many stars to accommodate, we'd imagine scheduling is of the essence.
Elsewhere in Soderbergh World, it's also reported that Haywire (previously known as Knockout), his espionage actioner centred around MMA fighter Gina Carano, has had its release delayed from January 2011 to the spring. A clip is promised shortly though, so watch this space.
