Yelchin Joins Only Lovers Left Alive

Jim Jarmusch has already assembled a fine cast for vampire tale Only Lovers Left Alive. Now he’s offering Anton Yelchin the chance to switch back into more dramatic territory after spending some time in both science fiction and fantasy.

While most details of Jarmusch’s latest are still under wraps, we do know it concerns star-crossed members of the fang club, with Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston (can you hear the cheering already?) Mia Wasikowska and John Hurt all aboard.

Yelchin, who was last seen in Like Crazy, is signing on as the director prepares to shoot this summer. The young actor has most recently finished his latest tour of duty as Pavel Chekov aboard the Enterprise (let’s hope the computer has figured out his accent by now) for Star Trek 2, and will next crop up on screen in the title role of Stephen Sommers’ Dean Koontz adaptation Odd Thomas.
