ABC’s series now doesn’t just offer connective tissue with the Marvel Cinematic Universe now, it’s forever bonded with Xena: Warrior Princess too. Sure, it may sound like a tenuous connection but try telling that to the Comic-Con brigade as the geek streams cross and potentially explode the planet.

Season two of Agents Of SHIELD will pick up with a potentially damaged Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) running the agency in Nick Fury’s (Samuel L. Jackson) stead. Lawless joins fellow newbie Patton Oswalt who plays Eric Koenig, a member of the World War II Howling Commandos in the comic books, and Ming-Na Wen, Melinda May, Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain De Caestecker.
Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD returns to ABC in the US and Channel 4 in these parts in September.
