All is pretty rosy in the Disney Animation garden at the moment. There are strong rumours of a sequel to its colossal hit **Frozen **and now, according to composer Henry Jackman, a Wreck-It Ralph 2 is in the works too.
The first slice of 8-bit adventure grossed $471m worldwide, a more than respectable return on its $150m+ budget. It wowed nostalgic gamers and dazzled kids, and, according to Jackman, will be doing so all over again.
“I can’t tell you more, not because I’m being coy, but I believe that it is officially on the cards,” the Wreck-It Ralph composer told Collider. “I don’t know any more other than a story is indeed being written. I’d be very surprised not to. I’m not blowing my own trumpet. Forget about the music. Just the movie itself I thought was a fantastically imaginative and creative piece of work.”
If you haven’t seen the first film, it starred John C. Reilly as a video-game villain questioning his place in the gaming universe and wondering if, perhaps, there isn’t more to life than smashing up buildings and being repeatedly bested by squeaky-clean hero Fix-It Felix, Jr. (Jack McBrayer). In cohoots with Sarah Silverman’s Vanellope von Schweetz, he sets off on a life-changing adventure across numerous gaming worlds.
