Everyone's had one of those days when everything seems to go up in smoke. Only for Brad Pitt's UN wonk Gerry Lane it's a bit more literal than that in this new **World War Z **poster. Everything *has *gone up in smoke. Like, the entire city. He can probably spot his house from up there - and guess what? It's on fire.
The poster, which comes courtesy of Digital Spy, shows the first stages of the global zombie cyclone as imagined from Max Brooks' bestselling novel, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War. Lane is helivacking out to fight another day from the safety of somewhere that isn't burning to the ground and full of the undead.
**Empire **caught up with director Marc Forster on the Paramount lot to talk about the rumour-plagued production. "There's never enough time to prep something on that scale," Forster said of suggestions that the shoot had run into trouble with rewrites and reshoots. "We walked in there and were prepared. We finished the film on time, we didn't go over schedule, so that's a sign for me that we on time in that sense, and that's usually a sign that things are out of control. We recreated the ending, but everything else worked.”
The latest trailer certainly offers a suitably scary vision of a world gone to pot; a pot full of swarming, flesh-eating suckas who crave a bit of Brad Pitt like, well, most normal people. Tied down any moveable objects and feast your eyes on it below. The Glasgow-shot World War Z, meanwhile, gets a UK release on June 21.
