American readers! Annoyed that you have to wait until August 23 for the wide US release of Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s final Cornetto Trilogy entry The World’s End? Excited to see Edgar is presenting a panel on it at Comic-Con this year? Heading to San Diego? You’ll be happy to hear the film has an exclusive poster up for grabs, as designed by artist Tommy Lee Edwards, who premiered it on Twitter.
For the three people left to learn this, Wright and co’s latest finds a group of friends who have drifted apart reuniting to recreate an unfinished pub crawl from 20 years ago in their old home town of Newton Haven.
Yet when they arrive, they discover that the sleepy little place is no longer exactly as it was when they were young – in a very drastic way. Soon, their drunken endeavour has become a quest to save humanity from the end of the world...
Pegg and Frost naturally figure alongside a roll call of faces both familiar to trilogy fans and those who are new, including Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan, Mark Heap, Rosamund Pike, David Bradley, Thomas Law and Zachary Bailess. The film is out here on July 19.
Also at Comic-Con, there will be a virtual, viral pub crawl and Edgar has promised more surprises. Anyone suspect a screening might be in the offing?
