The World's End Gets A New Release Date

Edgar Wright would like to ask you a question about his upcoming sci-fi comedy film, The World's End. A question concerning its release date, in fact, and whether you'd mind it being changed slightly...

Hey UK, would you like to see 'The World's End' released a whole MONTH earlier? > > — edgarwright (@edgarwright) [April 23, 2013](https://twitter.com/edgarwright/status/326641036321517568)

Before this announcement, the world was expected to end (figuratively speaking) on August 13. Incidentally, this would have seen The World's End sharing cinema space with fellow British comedy Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, which is aiming for an August 7 release.

The new date for The World's End has now officially been set for July 19 accordingly to Universal UK's Twitter feed. So what are you waiting for? Whip out your diaries and draw several circles around July 19 as soon as is physically possible - ideally in a nice big red biro (though be careful to not get any red on you).

The film sees Pegg play a slacker who reunites a group of friends to finish the pub crawl they abandoned years ago. Unfortunately, they're interrupted by some sort of large-scale event marking the end of days. Which is even more of a downer than an ill-timed chunder in your evening plans.
