Nicole Kidman is set to reunite with her Cold Mountain director, Anthony Minghella, for an upcoming comedy. Having clearly enjoyed each other's company while filming the civil war drama, the pair are currently in talks to make I Don't Know How She Does It. Adapted from the debut novel from Daily Telegraph writer Allison Pearson (itself based on her weekly newspaper column), the film would star Nicole as Kate Reddy, an investment banker with a great deal on her plate. At once a hectic comedy and an astute observation of the modern career woman, the film sees its heroine growing closer and closer to disaster as she tries to juggle her job, relationships and some semblance of a social life. You might think that this kind of story is a dime a dozen at Waterstones and that Hollywood has churned out a fair number of similar properties in recent years. You'd be right, too, but given the critical response to Reddy's novel, this particular tale of the working woman is something rather special. Add one of the most desirable actresses on the market and a director of Minghella's calibre and this may turn out quite well. Besides, finding its origins in a broadsheet column never did Bridget Jones any harm.
