The cast ranks for Battle In Seattle, AKA Stuart Townsend’s directorial debut, are beginning to swell.
Joining the previously cast Charlize Theron and Susan Sarandon are Andre Benjamin, Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta and Torque’s Martin Henderson.
The drama-documentary follows a dozen characters (Townsend’s clearly not looking for an easy ride on his first turn behind the megaphone) during the World Trade Organisation protests in 1999 at the titular city. As chaos erupts among an otherwise peaceful demonstration, the lives of the strangers are changed forever.
And Townsend has also hired a man who knows a little something about docu-dramas: his director of photography will be Barry Ackroyd, whose recent credits include United 93… It all kicks off in Canada and Seattle next week.
