Just when we thought that the days of movies being delayed might finally be behind us (or at least slowing down), along comes a raft of changes. With Warner Bros. shifting Tenet to two weeks later in July, the studio has now decided to adjust the release schedules for many of its other movies, including Wonder Woman 1984 and the next Matrix film.
The Wonder Woman follow-up, which had already shifted from June to August of this year, is now moving to 2 October. It just means we'll have to wait that much longer to see Gal Gadot's return as Diana Prince.
As for the fourth Matrix film, which had originally been set to arrive on 21 May 2021 is, because of pandemic-related production delays, now dated for 1 April 2022.
There's bad news for those who were expecting Godzilla Vs. Kong this November – the monster mash-up is taking over the vacated Matrix spot next May, where it'll face off (assuming no changes) against Saw reboot Spiral.
Robert Zemeckis' adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Witches has lost its October spot this year and is awaiting a new date at some point in 2021. The live-action/CG Tom & Jerry film, meanwhile, will shift from this December to 5 March next year.
