London has already seen two Harry Potter premieres since the immeasurably popular children's books made their way to the screen, but if the public lust for all things magical has diminished any in the meantime, there was certainly no evidence of it in Leicester Square on Sunday. Fans young and old lined the red carpet as far as the eye could see for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, turning out in numbers that might even have put the event on par with last year's Return of the King premiere. Having bitched to high heaven about the injustices of being forced to work on a Sunday, Empire felt suitably chastened to hear that many of the assembled fans had been in place outside the Odeon Leicester Square since five in the morning to secure their places. As they soldiered on through aching limbs and sporadic rain showers outside, we peered out from our place in the foyer with a certain degree of respect for their single-minded dedication as we jostled and elbowed with a particularly troublesome ten-year-old reporter from Blue Peter.
