Here’s a rule to live by: never go after a highly-trained hardass military guy, and especially don’t bump off their partner too – if you do, there’s a world of hurt sure to be coming your way. And that’s the exact predicament in Stefano Sollima’s Without Remorse, adapting Tom Clancy’s thriller about, well, a highly-trained hardass military guy (Michael B. Jordan, no less) seeking revenge for the murder of his pregnant wife, setting out to bring a world of hurt to the perpetrators. Check out the trailer:
Jordan plays John Clark, a fan-favourite Tom Clancy character from the Jack Ryan universe – and while this was produced separately to Amazon’s Jack Ryan series, it does make sense that the film (formerly a Paramount project) has found a Covid-friendly streaming home on Amazon Prime Video. Also starring in the film alongside Jordan is Jamie Bell as CIA agent Robert Ritter, and Jodie Turner-Smith as SEAL fighter Karen Greer. Sollima is no stranger to gritty action and all the associated thrills and spills, as the filmmaker behind TV’s Gomorrah, and Sicario sequel Soldado. The script is by Sicario and Soldado writer Taylor Sheridan, and co-written by Will Staples.
See how many shadowy figures John Clark can take out (and find out how exactly he escapes from interrogating a suspect in a car that he’s just doused in petrol and set on fire) when Without Remorse comes to Amazon Prime Video on 30 April.
