She’s most recently been seen in period togs for Anna Karenina, but Luther’s Ruth Wilson appears to be tapping into her darker side once more for Scott Frank’s A Walk Among The Tombstones.
Frank, who adapted the script from Lawrence Block’s book and will direct, is busy gathering his cast. Just yesterday, Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens scored a leading role alongside Liam Neeson.
The film sees Neeson as a former NYPD officer who spends his days as a private eye. When he’s hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer, he stumbles upon a gang notorious for snatching and killing their victims.
As with Stevens, the details of Wilson’s role haven’t been released, though we guess it’s possible she’s on to co-star as the kidnapped wife.
We’re dearly hoping she’s back on Luther as the psychotic Alice for the new series, but Wilson will also be seen in two big films, Disney’s action adventure tent pole take on**The Lone Ranger **(due August 9) and the company’s drama about the struggle to make Mary Poppins, **Saving Mr Banks (we can expect that one on January 17 next year).
