Wilmer Valderrama – still best known for That ‘70s Show – has decided to take his film career into his own hands. While he waits for developments on the CHiPs movie makeover, he’s been working on a pitch for a film – and Universal has decided to give PartyBuddys a go.

So what is it? If you’ve never heard of the company (and grammatical nightmare) PartyBuddys, it’s sort of a Red Letter Days for deep-pocketed businessmen with an ambition not to drive a Formula One car or fly in a fighter jet but to be treated like a celebrity party hound for a night. The service – set up by James King and Jason Roefaro – guarantees accountants and middle managers the VIP experience, being ushered past the velvet rope and scary bouncers into New York’s most exclusive clubs. Yes, if you can afford the fee, you too can be Paris Hilton.

Mike Samonek is writing the script, though there’s no word on exactly what the tone will be. Part of Valderrama’s deal includes an option for him to star if he chooses, but we’ll all just have to calm down and wait patiently to find out what it will be about. Pass the Cristal, will you?
