There's proof, once again, of the scientific maxim that Being A Hitman In A Movie Is Bad For Your Heath, because Willem Dafoe and Keanu Reeves have signed on to play clashing contract killers in **John Wick.

David Leitch and Chad Stahelski are directing the film, which unfolds a twisty plot around the two professional killers. Keanu plays the title character, whose best friend Marcus (Dafoe) encourages him to leave the world of assassination behind when Wick’s wife dies.

Unfortunately, some criminal lowlife decides to go after Wick’s car, and in the process kills his beloved pooch – doubly significant because the dog was a gift from his late wife. When Wick hunts down the thief to exact some bloody revenge, the story twists again, because the villain’s dad is a crime boss in New York.

The father then puts a hit out on Wick and who should snag the contract? None other than Marcus! But then, you saw that coming, right? So now the two old friends are enemies as one hunts the other and (we figure) vice versa.

Derek Kolstad wrote the script, but there’s no word on when it’ll kick off shooting. Reeves will next be seen in 47 Ronin (due out December 26) and is attached to sci-fi drama Passengers. Dafoe just signed on to**The Fault In Our Stars **and will be seen in Out Of The Furnace (released January 31), A Most Wanted Ma****n, Nymphomaniac and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
