Some magazine articles, like, say the story of Argo, seem destined to become movies. That also held true for the Wall St Journal’s piece on a group of 40-year-olds who have continued their childhood game of tag long into adulthood. New Line bought up the rights to the idea and now Will Ferrell and Jack Black are attached to star in Tag Brothers.
The real-life concept involves a group of old school friends in Spokane, Washington who spend the month of February each year chasing each other across the country, into work places and even homes, to avoid being “it,” a condition that lasts for a year on the last person tagged during the game.
Ferrell and Black aren’t formally committed just yet – first they want to see how Mark Steilen’s screenplay turns out – but if they do sign on, it’ll mark their first major screen partnership since Black’s memorable one-scene cameo in Anchorman. And since this could be a Ferrell film with the word "brothers" in the title, someone get John C. Reilley on the phone stat. After all, we know those three can make beautiful music together{
Black can be seen on screen in Bernie (you can watch him talk about that below) and is providing vocals for Kung Fu Panda 3. Ferrell is at work on Anchorman: The Legend Continues, will show up briefly in** The Internship** and is one of the tonsil talents for** The Lego Movie**.
