Given that Talladega Nights star Will Ferrell currently has the number one film in America (not to mention the highest-opening comedy and the sixth-highest film with the words… ENOUGH!), he could likely greenlight a film where he sits and reads the paper in a silly hat for three hours and studios will fall over themselves to throw money at the idea.
But fortunately –alongside planning his new film Step Brothers with co-scribbler/director Adam McKay and co-star John C Reilly, he’s planning to return to the source of one of his earlier hits. Ferrell is in talks to reunite with Old School screenwriter Scot Armstrong for the comedy Semi-Pro, which is set in the world of 1970’s basketball. Hoops, eh? Surely a prime source of comedy for the lanky actor…
And that’s not all – Armstrong has been hard at work on sequels to Old School and Elf, which Ferrell is also considering. Watch this space, people.
