Like a pet going to a good home, live-action/CG comedy Strays has been swiftly adopted. We reported on the film when Phil Lord and Chris Miller came aboard back in May, but the film has already shot, with Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx and Will Forte all involved.
Josh Greenbaum, who had a successful directorial debut this year with Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar, has finished shooting, working from a script by Dan Perrault.
The movie blends live-action with CG animals for the story of an abandoned dog who teams up with other strays to get revenge on his former owner. Ferrell is the voice of the abandoned hound, with Foxx as one of the other dogs and Forte (in person) is the nasty human who sets the story in motion.
Universal is producing the movie, which, given that it's now in post-production, should be on screens next year.
