Okay, this is a weird one… According to The Wrap, Will Ferrell has gotten himself attached to star in and produce a Spanish-language comedy called Casa De Mi Padre (House of My Father).
While the plot info has so far been locked down tight, the one detail that has leaked is that it’ll stick to the language setting, with English subtitles.
It sounds like a flippant comedy idea the actor threw out while doing the press rounds for his latest movie, The Other Guys, but apparently it’s real. Or as real as anything can be in Hollywood when it’s at such an embryonic stage.
And while the film has the backing of Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions, there’s also no word on who will direct it, though The Wrap’s source says it’ll be one of the Funny or Die team. Just not Adam McKay. Maybe Senor Spielbergo is available?
We’re definitely going to keep track of this one, presuming it actually blooms into a real project and isn’t just something that Ferrell and McKay cooked up for a giggle and are now trying to spread across the news wires like a comedy virus.
Oh, and if that headline is any way mangled, apologies to native Spanish speakers. It’s the Babel Fish’s fault.
