Whoopi Goldberg is the proud vendor of a house sold on the Internet - with no need for potential buyers to physically visit the property. The Oscar-winning actress had her Conneticut home on the market for four years after deciding to stay put in her New York and Los Angeles abodes.

But she never had any offers made on the restored farmhouse set in 13-acres of land, until she showcased the home on the Internet Whoopi's website allowed potential buyers or curious fans to view the house in full 3-D, offering fully-controllable cameras which can be zoomed-in on any detail for close-up inspection. And within days of releasing the site, Goldberg sold the five-bedroom early-Colonial home which includes a meadow, apple orchard, horse barn and paddock, and workshop. Whoopi, who added the charming front-porch swing shortly after she moved in, got her asking price of $975,000 (£600,000). The two-story living room has a dramatic fireplace, rustic pine floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows - and Whoopi's blue dog painting still hangs above the fireplace.
