Westworld To Return For Season 4

Westworld Season 3

Westworld returned this year in a very different setting, even as it continued the sometimes confusing plot turns and dark story of AI looking to get a little revenge on humanity for mistreatment in the sprawling theme park. Season 3 has clearly been a success for HBO (and Sky), and the show will return for a fourth.

Of course, when it will actually shoot will depend on the film and TV industries figuring out safe ways to sanitize sets, monitor cast and crew health and maintain what social distancing is needed in the current pandemic situation.

Season 3 is set three months after the events of the second season with Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores having escaped Westworld with a few processing cores including that of Jeffrey Wright’s Bernard. Taking residence in neo-Los Angeles in 2058, Dolores develops a relationship with Aaron Paul’s Caleb and comes to learn how artificial beings and lower-class humans are treated in the real world. Thandie Newton's Maeve, after finding herself in a World War II world of the park, also reaches the real world, and is set on a collision course with Dolores. The Man In Black (Ed Harris), meanwhile, is trapped contemplating his true nature and haunted by visions of his daughter Emily (Katja Herbers).

The season has a couple of episodes left, so we'll have to wait and see where that leaves us and points to where the fourth will go. "From the western theme park to the technocratic metropolis of the near future, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn from the minds of master storytellers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy," says HBO boss Casey Bloys. "We can’t wait to see where their inspired vision takes us next."
