The team behind Westworld are not known for letting information slip about their plans ahead of new seasons. So it's entirely predictable that, while we have word of an interesting new piece of casting, there are no details about what they'll be playing. Still, Aaron Paul is joining the cast for season 3 as a regular.

Season 2 ended – spoiler alert for those not caught up – with Evan Rachel Wood's Dolores escaping into the real world with a number of host consciousnesses after securing others a safe place to hide in a virtual space. She's got big plans for taking control away from humanity, but we'll have to wait and see what shape those plans take.

As for Paul, he'll be playing a mysterious new character, but whether that is human or host has yet to be seen. Still, it'll be fun to see the former Jesse Pinkman interacting with the rest.

The actor, who also starred on The Path, has been at work on a new streaming series for Apple called Are You Sleeping?, but that is designed to be an anthology drama, so he's only contracted for one season.

Westworld. which scored 21 Emmy nominations and won three Creative Arts Emmys this past weekend, will not likely return until 2020.
