Having tackled racism and capital punishment in Monster's Ball, director Marc Forster will be returning to his childhood for Never Land, the story of Peter Pan creator James Barrie. Rather than revisiting Barrie's classic story, which has previously been attempted with mixed results (Hook anyone?), Forster's film will focus on the story behind the story. Based on Alan Knee's play The Man Who Was Peter Pan, the film will tell the story of Barrie himself and how his neighbours in turn of the century London, a mother and two boys, inspired him to write the classic children's novel. No characters, grown-up or otherwise, have yet been cast.
