With every Tom, Dick and Rod Stewart getting their own musicals these days, it's about time that some decent music blared out on Broadway. And now that looks likely, after it was announced today that the Pink Floyd concept album/movie, The Wall, is heading to Broadway as a stage musical. The adaptation of the stonking 23 million-selling album (home of such classics as Another Brick In The Wall, Comfortably Numb, and Hey You), which detailed the increasingly fractured mindset of the tortured lead singer of a rock band in a totalitarian society, will be co-produced by none other than Mr. Miramax himself, Harvey Weinstein. While it's difficult to imagine Big Harv wigging out to the Floyd, with a spliff in one hand and air guitar in t'other, he was more than enthusiastic about the band's masterpiece at a press conference held today in New York.
