Coming Soon has a new video journal from the set of Zack Snyder's Watchmen, which you can take a look at here. This is the first in a series of twelve that will be released each month in the run up to the March 2009 opening of the movie.
This video follows production designer Alex McDowell as he tours round the sets and gives a really good look at the style of the film. McDowell's created some fantastic sets in his time – he's responsible for the likes of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Terminal – and this looks like a winner. He's stayed faithful to the source material, right down to the slightly garish colour palette, but twisted it just enough to make it look realistic. Certain sets look almost exactly like panels from the graphic novel. This inspires a lot of confidence that this team is doing things right.
