Golf may be, as they say, a good walk spoiled, but what better way to spoil it than in the company of Hollywood heavyweights Michael Douglas and Samuel L Jackson? Both stars flew into Scotland this week to take place in a Pro/Am golf tournament at St. Andrews. Speaking to local reporters, Douglas said that it was important that in the wake of September 11 people continued to travel; 'We are all nervous but I think you have to live your life,' he said. 'My game is all over the place at the moment, but I am having a great time!' Douglas and Jackson will join fellow US actor Kyle MacLachlan and Britain's great white hope Hugh Grant in the tournament. 'For the middle-aged golf addict like myself this is like dying and going to golfing heaven,' Grant enthused. 'In between films, I'm now playing quite a bit of golf, but I only really started to play seriously about three years ago. I used to have many different types of books on my bedside table – but these days about 95 per cent of them are about golf! Sad, isn't it.'
