Warners Presses Control-Alt-Delete

Bill and Ted meets the Matrix? Eh?

Warner Bros. has picked up the spec script for a new comedy, Control-Alt-Delete.

Tim Kelleher – whose last writing credit was the 1996 comedy, First Kid – and Danny Zuker wrote the script, about which little is known.

We do know, though, that it’s high-concept, and that it’s been described as Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure meets The Matrix. Our guess, going on that premise and the title, is that it revolves around a pair of slackers who somehow become trapped in a computer game. Kelleher/Zuker, if you’re reading this, drop us a line – are we warm?

At the moment, no talent is attached to the project, but we wouldn’t be too surprised if the producers weren’t trying to lure Keanu Reeves on board. After all, Bill And Ted meets The Matrix would seem to have his name written all over it…

The producers in question are former New Line head honcho Bob Shaye and Dylan Sellers, who will oversee the production via their Unique Features banner. Warner Bros. will sign the cheques.
