Warners Has A Case Of The Wind

Dear Warners: you really can’t expect to title a top-secret new sci-fi project The Wind and not have us trying our best to avoid making fart gags. But here goes nothing: the studio has set up the project with ads director Nic Mathieu.

What can we tell you about the film itself? Very little, hence the “top secret" bit. But The Hollywood Reporter was able to dig up one small detail: it’ll be set in a space colony.

While the studio is turning to a first-time feature director on this (albeit one who has been impressing executives with his handling of CG effects in his commercials), it is leaving writing duties to a very experienced hand, with David Koepp firing up his word processor.

Koepp, a veteran of Spielberg films and a go-to script doctor when he’s not writing and directing his own movies, most recent helped out with Men In Black 3 and wrote Angels & Demons. His next directing job, Premium Rush, will hit our cinemas on September 14.

As for when we can expect **The Wind **to gust in? It’s at such an early stage that that is anyone’s guess. But when it gets released, we hope it doesn’t smell. WE COULDN’T RESIST.
