Bad news for Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas: they’ll have to set up shop elsewhere. Warner Bros. has decided not to move forward with the **Dumb & Dumber **sequel, **Dumb & Dumber **To, which Peter and Bobby Farrelly have been trying to get made for years.

It’s the latest setback in what has been a torturous development process driven by whispers, rumours, casting announcements, casting retractions, casting re-announcements, and, around the time the Farrellys were promoting their Three Stooges film, what seemed to be actual progress towards getting the new movie made.

According to the Hollywood Reporter’s sources, the sticking points are studio research pointing to low interest in the film (despite a relatively low budget) and the poor box office for** The Incredible Burt Wonderstone**, which co-starred Jim Carrey.

All is not lost, however: with Carrey and Jeff Daniels attached to reprise their roles as Harry and Lloyd and a script in hand about the pair searching for Daniels’ illegitimate daughter to give him a new kidney, the Farrelly brothers are free to shop the project around to other companies for financing and distributing assistance. The idiots may yet ride again…
