Like an impatient child unwilling to wait to unwrap the next toy before they've even really played with the first one, Warner Bros. executives are now tugging at their parents’ clothing to be allowed to make a Ninjago film as a follow-up to** The Lego Movie**.
Though the wannabe blocks-buster doesn’t even arrive until next year, plans are now already afoot to adapt the Ninjago series of toys – which has already spawned a successful cartoon show across the pond – for the big screen.
Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman, who wrote that series (subtitle: Masters Of Spinjitzu) , and who have contributed to the** Lego Movie**, are aboard to script the film.
Ninjago blends Chinese and Japanese cultural myths into one fictional world where Kai, the red ninja of fire, faces snakes and dragons, including the Great Devourer. But the film will apparently plot a new path for its story.
**Lego Movie **producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee are attached, along with that film’s directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, though they will only oversee the film from a distance and someone else will actually shepherd the movie as director. More on who that could be as it emerges...
