We don't have too long to wait now for the first Marvel/Disney+ series to appear, WandaVision. And with a new teaser comes news that will interest and excite fans of previous Disney output – Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez have written a set of sitcom theme tunes for the show, and you can hear some of one of them in the new teaser below.

Part of WandaVision's concept finds Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda "Scarlet Witch" Maximoff and Paul Bettany's android Vision living in a strange suburban world – not just because Vision was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War – and trying to figure out what this odd reality means. They're seemingly existing in a sitcom world that moves through the decades and styles of those shows, while those around them appear to acknowledge that something is very wrong...

The Lopez duo are perhaps best known for their garlanded musical work on stage and their Oscar-winning songs for films such as Frozen and Coco. "WandaVision is such a cool, strange, one-of-a-kind project," said Lopez in an official statement. "When the director, Matt Shakman – an old friend from my college days – pitched it to us, we didn’t have to think about it. We loved the bright feeling of American sitcoms mixed with the deep sense of unease the story had, and it was a really inviting challenge to help set that tone."

Adds Anderson-Lopez in the same statement: "I grew up in the ’80s watching shows from every decade on the networks all day long. Episodes from I Love Lucy, Brady Bunch and Family Ties shaped who I am and how I move through the world. So this project was a dream come true."

WandaVision will launch on Disney+ on 15 January. You can still buy Empire's cover issue featuring the show online.
