We already know that Oscar Isaac and Jason Clarke will be headed to the desert for William Monahan’s new writing-directing gig Mojave. Now we’ll also see D****jango Unchained**’s Walton Goggins try to keep sand out of his shoes for the drama.

Garrett Hedlund and Louise Bourgoin are also appearing in the film, which finds a near-suicidal artist fleeing to the desert in order to confront an existential crisis. But though he craves solitude and peace to figure out his issues, he’s dogged at every turn by a homicidal drifter who also shows signs of genius intelligence. So not your average drama, then…

With Dark Knight producer Charles Roven overseeing the film, Monahan’s Henceforth Pictures is producing, and he’s cranking the cameras now in LA and the Mojave Desert.

Goggins is on a roll of roles at the moment, in between working with the likes of Spielberg (for Lincoln), Tarantino (Django) and Robert Rodriguez (Machete Kills). He also scored an Emmy nomination for his work on TV’s Justified. To find him talking about the various performances he’s given, head to our enlightening chat with the man here.
