It seems like an age since we were talking about **Wall Street **sequel Money Never Sleeps at Cannes, but now the film is only a month away from release. To help drum up some extra publicity, there’s now a new clip from the movie online over at Yahoo, which you can watch below.
Money Never Sleeps follows Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) as he gets out of prison after a long stay inside for his various financial crimes. Emerging in an age where traders are still looking to get rich at the expense of the market, he attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter (Carey Mulligan) via wannabe son-in law Jacob Moore (Shia LaBeouf) and warn people about the upcoming economic collapse.
This particular chunk of footage finds Gordon at a swanky charity function chewing over good and bad financial ideas and trading barbs with Josh Brolin’s Bretton James and Jacob Moore.
While the chatter is mostly about investment ideas and philosophy, it’s clear that the snappy banter and not-so-underlying tension between the characters is palpable even in a scene where it’s just three men at a table talking.
The film will be released on October 6.
