It's not exactly surprising news to learn that The Walking Dead will be back for an 11th season. Even with declining ratings, the show remains a huge success for US network AMC. But there was actual news to emerge from the show's panel at this year's New York Comic-Con: Lauren Cohan will be back as Maggie in that next season.
Season 10 is about to kick off this month, and from the sounds of it, Cohan will return briefly near the end to bring Maggie back into the fold before she resumes regular status next year.
Cohan, who had been having pay disputes with AMC (and had briefly switched to starring in short-lived action/comedy series Whiskey Cavalier made a surprise appearance at the panel to announce her return to the Dead gang. "It's completely surreal," Cohan said onstage. "It feels just like home. It feels so emotional. It feels really, really emotional. I feel like this is a very special Comic-Con and a very special family and I'm really happy to be here."
Season 10 finds our heroes going up against the Whisperers and figuring out how to make the communities truly work together again. It'll also mark the end of Danai Gurira's time on the show.
