Recently, some new pictures of The Walking Dead's ninth season arrived, and in addition to the departure of Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes, a big part of the story will be Lauren Cohan's Maggie looking to make good on her plan to lead the various communities. That's a part of the new teaser for the series, which is now online.
Season 9 finds the various communities in a more peaceful period around 18 months after the all-out war with the Saviors and the capture of brutal leader Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). A time jump will see how Hilltop, Alexandria and the others are throwing themselves into building a new society even as walkers still stalk the Earth and the infrastructure of the old world crumbles around them.
This being The Walking Dead, that relative calm won't last, and new threats, both human and not, are lurking... The series returns in the US on 7 October via AMC and 8 October on Fox in the UK.
