Though they take place at different times in the zombie outbreak, there have been hints that characters from The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead may well meet in a crossover event between the two shows. Now creator Robert Kirkman has revealed that it's in the works.
While he earlier dropped hints at the San Diego Comic-Con, Kirkman used the panel at the New York event this past weekend to confirm that at least one character will be seen on both shows. How? He's not saying yet. "More news coming in the following months," Kirkman said after teasing the plan for the "one character that I will not name." So, yes, not exactly a lot to go on there, but the most concrete news yet on the idea of the shows somehow connecting beyond their shared universe.
Speculation is already rife that the character to cross might be Kim Dickens' Madison Clark from Fear, but no one is ready to say yet. A crossover would certainly be a boost for Fear, which despite earning respectable ratings, hasn't matched the main show in either viewership or buzz. The prequel ends its third season on 15 October, with The Walking Dead back for its eighth on 22 October.
