With The Walking Dead set to lose at least two key characters in its upcoming ninth season, there's room in the apocalypse for some new blood. And, according to Comicbook.com, the series is adding Dan Fogler and Eleanor Matsuura to the cast.

Ahead of the show's panel at the San Diego Comic-Con Friday, the news has emerged that Fogler will be playing a mysterious new character, while Matsuura is on as Yumiko, a survivor of the zombie apocalypse who appears in the comic books. She's part of a group that encounters Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the Alexandria Safe-Zone some years after the All-Out War, serving as one of a few new points of view into the story's status quo following the significant time jump.

Their casting comes on the heels of Lauren Ridloff joining the series to play Connie, the first deaf main character and part of Yumiko's group.

In addition to the news, a first teaser for the new season has popped up online, though we can expect a longer version after the show's Comic-Con panel. From the looks of this quick peek, though, expect ructions and reactions as the community tries to steady itself.
