Update: Andrew Scott, most recently seen in All Of Us Strangers and Netflix's Ripley, is also now confirmed by Variety as joining the cast.

Just last week, we learned the title of Rian Johnson's latest Knives Out mystery — Wake Up Dead Man (yes, sans comma). The writer/director didn't share any casting, but word has since arrived (initially via What's On Netflix and since confirmed by the trades) that the first two pieces of the ensemble around returning veteran Daniel Craig have been locked in: Challengers' Josh O'Connor and Priscilla's Cailee Spaeny.

Beyond that, the information is basically nil — we don't know, for example what sort of mystery the drawlin' detective Benoit Blanc (Craig) will be digging into this time, nor do we know exactly where (rumours have pointed to a least shooting in London).

The Knives Out movies have always boasted eclectic ensembles, with Ana de Armas, Chris Evans and Jamie Lee Curtis among those populating 2019's eponymous original film, while Edward Norton, Kate Hudson, Janelle Monae were part of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in 2022, made as part of the hefty deal Netflix struck with Johnson, Craig and producer Ram Bergman for two new films.

O'Connor and Spaeny are the first two confirmed names, while rumours have floated about Tom Hardy and Lindsay Lohan being in talks.

Johnson is gearing up to start shooting shortly, with Netflix looking to have this one ready for a 2025 release.
