Anthony Hopkins is up for yet another Oscar this coming weekend for The Father, and in The Virtuoso, he plays a very different type of character. Empire is pleased to present an exclusive clip from the new thriller, which you can find below.

Directed by Nick Stagliano from James C. Wolf's script, The Virtuoso finds a professional assassin (Anson Mount) accepting a new assignment from his enigmatic mentor and boss (Hopkins). Given only where and when along with a cryptic clue, the methodical hit man must identify his mysterious mark from among several possible targets, including a local sheriff (David Morse). Meanwhile, a chance encounter with an alluring woman (Abbie Cornish) at the town’s rustic diner threatens to derail his mission...

With Eddie Marsan, Diora Baird and Richard Brake also in the cast, cloak-and-dagger thriller The Virtuoso is out on Digital Download 30 April and DVD 10 May from Lionsgate.
