Speaking to Empire for last month's Fast & Furious 7 feature, Vin Diesel said that he wouldn't be indulging his predilection for enthusiastic future sequel speculation on this occasion: the tragic loss of Paul Walker meant that, for now, unusually, Furious 7 would end on a full stop rather than an ellipsis. It seems he can't help himself, however, since he's just dropped some possible Fast & Furious 8 details to Jimmy Kimmel{
"I always think of these films as multiple pictures at a time," says Vin. "Kurt Russell came in for this movie, but we really hired him for a story that follows this, that takes place in New York."
Russell plays the mysterious G-Man referring to himself as "Mr Nobody" in Furious 7, hiring Dom and his Fast crew for a mission to steal a mcguffin. So it sounds as if he has more work in store for them, in which he may be more actively involved...
Meanwhile, also out on the Fast & Furious trail, Jason Statham has been fielding inevitable Expendables questions, and has told IGN that he's ready for more. He may have stopped at three Transporters, but he's up for Expendables running and running.
"I'll do as many as Sly wants," he says. "working with Sylvester Stallone is beyond a 'pinch yourself' moment. I remember growing up watching his films, and to be directed by him in a movie that he's produced, and to be shoulder-to-shoulder with Sly is a privilege anyone who loves action movies would never turn their nose up at."
Fast & Furious 7 is out this weekend, and Empire**'s review is right here. Expendables 4 is... further away.
