Though she'll have to deal with sharing screen time with a giant diva like Godzilla, Millie Bobby Brown will have some help in the creature's sequel film thanks to two cool cinematic parents. Kyle Chandler is already on board the film as her father and Vera Farmiga is joining the family to play her mother.

The follow-up to 2014's Godzilla – which we keep seeing reported as either Godzilla: King Of Monsters or Godzilla: King Of The Monsters (let's have some consistency, can we, people?) – remains largely secret in terms of its story, beyond the huge beasties battling that are de rigueur for such films, of course, but the human element is coming into focus quickly, with The Hollywood Reporter hearing that Chandler's character will be a scientist.

Krampus' Michael Dougherty is in the director's chair, having impressed Legendary and Warner Bros. with the script he wrote in collaboration with Zach Shields.

The new Godzilla (whatever it ends up being called) is scheduled to arrive 22 March 2019.

Farmiga will be seen opposite Liam Neeson in action thriller The Commuter (which recently shifted dates to 2018 in the States and will likely follow suit here) and is at work on sci-fi film Captive State.
