While you might think that space symbiote Venom would see an ally in the quick-spreading Coronavirus, it surely won't be pleased at the news that the sequel to the Tom Hardy-starring anti-superhero film will be delayed to next year. At least we do know the title now: Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
Yes, that's an evocative title for the movie, which sees Hardy back as journalist Eddie Brock, who unwittingly merges with the powerful creature. Woody Harrelson is reprising his role (from the post-credits sequence) of serial killer Cletus Kasady, who ends up becoming similarly-powered supervillain Carnage.
Andy Serkis is in the director's chair this time, and Sony has just announced that the film, which had already been shot, will be delayed from its original date of 2 October this year to 25 June 2021.
