A new novel adaptation

Universal Pictures has found a pair of writers to employ a little Deceit.

2Fast 2Furious scribbling team Michael Brandt and Derek Haas will adapt James Siegel’s novel for Lorenzo Di Bonaventura. The book – which is only just about to hit American bookshelves – focuses on a high-flying reporter who fabricates stories (surely a fiction: we journalists never, ever lie. Except just then. Or did we?) and finds himself sacked when the truth is discovered. Forced to work for a small town paper, he stumbles across a conspiracy linked to radiation testing and the government in the ‘50s. But whoops – thanks to his previous cry-wolf attitude, no one believes him.

This is not the first time that a Siegel novel has hit the screen. His work has already been made as Derailed and he has another book (Detour) in development at Paramount.
