With her cerebral sci-fi credentials proven already in 1997's Gattaca, Uma Thurman is set to go futuristic again in John Woo's Paycheck. Fresh from dishing out death samurai style in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, Thurman will portray a brainy doctor opposite Ben Affleck's amnesiac in the latest story from sci-fi writer extraordinaire Philip K. Dick to be transferred to screen. The tale follows a lowly electrician who wakes up to discover his employer has erased his memory of the past two years as a security measure. And when the forgetful fellow pops along to his payroll office, he suffers an even nastier surprise when he finds out he has previously signed a release replacing the money in his paycheck with a bag of random objects. And Thurman's jumped aboard the good ship Paycheck just in time. Shooting on the pic is due to start any time now in Canada with the release of the sci-fi shenanigans scheduled for as early as the end of the year.
