Given how racially charge the culture of America continues to be, it's only natural that more movies would confront the shattering events around the LA Riots, especially with their 30th anniversary approaching next year. Now Tyrese Gibson, Ray Liotta and Scott Eastwood are aboard new thriller April 29, 1992.
Ariel Vromen, who made The Iceman, will direct from Sascha Penn's script, and the story finds Liotta and Eastwood playing a father/son duo who get caught up in a heist gone wrong that is happening during the riots. Gibson's role is unknown, though he brings South Central LA authenticity to the film.
The aim is to have the movie in production this August for a release next year.
