As if dealing with Tony Stark’s technologically superior sarcasm in Iron Man 3 and getting haunted – twice, no less – in the Insidious films wasn’t enough for one young life, Ty Simpkins is preparing to go walking with (or more likely running and screaming from) dinosaurs. He’s the latest piece of lead casting for **Jurassic World.
Simpkins joins Bryce Dallas Howard (assuming she locks down a deal) in the film. The plot is largely under wraps, though we do know it’s likely to feature a return to Isla Nublar. It won’t be Simpkins’ first run-around with Steven Spielberg, who is producing the new film as Jurassic Park overlord: the actor played a young lad in Spielberg’s War Or The Worlds.
Also being considered is Jake Johnson, which makes sense when you remember that Jurassic World’s director is Colin Trevorrow, who worked with Johnson on Safety Not Guaranteed. According to Deadline, though, he has yet to be confirmed.
Trevorrow is working from a script that he and regular writing partner Connolly re-wrote based on Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver’s original drafts. **Jurassic World **is set for release on June 12, 2015.
