Two New [Rec] Teaser Posters Online

They've done the rounds at the film markets and festivals recently, but here, making their online hi-res debut, are two teaser posters for [Rec]: Genesis and **_[Rec]: Apocalypse_.

Aside from the super-generic and unimaginitive subtitles (c'mon guys, no Revelations? Only Children of the Corn, The Butterfly Effect, Hellraiser and Silent Hill have used that one so far) the pair of images do a good job with the before-and-after nature of the films: a prequel and a threequel to the Spanish-language handheld Catholic zombie rabies franchise. Good sense of escalation too, with the simple red recording dot* a blood drip for Genesis and a splatterfest for Apocalypse.

Series honchos Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza directed the first two in tandem, but will go it alone for the next two, taking one each. Balaguero will take Apocalypse, with Plaza therefore behind the megaphone for Genesis, which will apparently "open up" the story by taking it miles from the original location, and use a more "traditional" filmmaking style (it sounds like bits of Genesis will still be first-person POV, but not all of it). We're promised it'll also function as a "decoder" for the back-story clues dropped in the first two films.

No details about Apocalypse yet, but the trajectory of the series seems pretty clear. Genesis should be with us in the autumn of 2011, and Apocalypse a year later.

*That dot always puts us in mind of HAL9000: not in itself a bad thing if you want to creep people out.
