Alongside better-known names like Matt Damon, Jodie Foster and Sharlto Copley, Neill Blomkamp has cast Brazilian actress Alice Braga in his follow-up to District 9, Elysium, so maybe it should come as no surprise that two new stills from the film have arrived online via a South American newspaper's website.
The stills themselves don't reveal all that much about Blomkamp's sci-fi class struggle, so here's some background for you: the world in 2159 is split into two - the ruined surface of the planet where the poor live and the floating super-city known as Elysium where the rich swim around in swimming pools full of cash (possibly).
Damon plays a dying ex-convict on the surface desperate to make his way to Elysium - a man so desperate that he's willing to take on a dangerous mission that'll see him square off against Foster's Secretary Delacourt in the process. Oh, and he'll save the world - or he'll have to, at any rate - in the process.
A very intriguing tie-in website, welcometoelysium.com, has also been launched to tease fans just that little bit more. Take a look for yourself and let us know if you'd like to live up there in the clouds and/or whether it reminds you of fellow ruined earth sci-fis After Earth and Oblivion.
P.S. In Delacourt's service is one very dangerous person indeed, a man by the name of Kruger, who's played by - you guessed it - Sharlto Copley. If you haven't seen it already, here's the first still of him in character from a few months back.

Written and directed by Blomkamp, Elysium is set for a September 20 release in the UK.
