Good news for fans of much-vaunted British thesps – Timothy Dalton and Steven Berkoff have joined the cast of the glossy Johnny Depp-Angelina Jolie thriller, The Tourist.

No word yet on who they’re playing, but given their track record (Bond aside, natch), we’d expect them to be scenery-chewing villains. They join the already-cast Brit pair of Rufus Sewell and Paul Bettany, who are probably going to be moustache-twirling villains. Ah, where would big-budget thrillers be without us Brits, eh?

Little is known about the actual plot of The Tourist – which is directed by Florence Henckel von Donnersmarck, from a script by Final Draft-wielding heavyweights Julian Fellowes, Christopher McQuarrie and Jeffrey Nachmanoff – save that it involves Depp’s American tourist becoming involved in a dangerous romance with a mysterious woman (Jolie), which leads to lots of derring-do, intrigue and being chased by scenery-chewing, moustache-twirling villains.

Should be good.
