Obviously trying to prove that he can not only get back to his action roots, but also show his sensitive side, Vin Diesel has signed on to two different films.
First up is Black Water Transit, an action movie set to be directed by music video helmer Samuel Bayer in Chicago in July. The plot – which was originally going to star Bruce Willis – follows various different cops, lawyers and criminals as they pursue a shipment of firearms and investigate a murder.
Vin will be joined in the film by Aeon Flux’s Sophie Okonedo (who will probably be praying this one is better) and Spider-Man franchise regular James Franco.
But when he’s done kicking arse and shooting guns, Diesel might just be getting all romantic. Touchstone has grabbed up rom-com pitch Player’s Rules. Entrapment scribe Ron Bass co-wrote the script with Jen Smolka after a pitch session with Vin himself.
There are few details, but Bass and Smolka described the concept to Variety as "a unique take in the ongoing war between men and women."
